Balance Sheet accounts open items only

Hi

Is it possible to clear or link items that match off ( ie where a debit that was entered previously now matches off against a credit ) in a Balance Sheet account, so that you are able to view only those "open" items that make up the balance of that Balance Sheet account ? This avoids the need to do manual reconciliations for every Balance Sheet account.
