AE:How to store value in field populated by workflow

Hi Community,


I have populated a field via workflow set field value. In order to do this I need to not have Store Value on the custom field ticked. The value being populated is a substring of another field on the record. This other field is being populated by a saved search on the field itself. SO again, store value, is not ticked.

This means neither of my fields (but the one being populated by workflow is the important one) can be use in reports and searches.


I'm sure this is an easy one. Any ideas anyone?
