Changing Location of IA Line Items with Paste

I have a large Item Receipt record that has been attributed to the wrong location.

I changed the location main line however it has no effect on the line items what is the purpose of the Main Line Location if it apparently does nothing?

and much more importantly why is it the case that when i paste in the correct value into the drop down then move on to the next line by clicking on it so as to be able to do this quickly changing all lines to the correct value however, upon saving the document only those line items who i changed by actually clicking on the drop down option were saved correctly?
