AE: Discount for sale item posting to a sales summary account

Hi all,

we have a 'discount for sale' item that has been setup to post to a sales discount code 41010 but instead when it is used on credit memo's NetSuite insists on posting to a higher level sales summary account 40000 i.e. an account that it should not even be possible to post to ! We are being told this is standard behaviour - has anyone else come across this and/or found a solution ?
