Date Field - Auto populate with option to override

Hi Guys,


For the IF transaction we have created an additional custom body transaction field by the name: Actual Ship Date

Type of field: Date

We need an additional field for internal KPI.


I am trying to get a functionality to apply (no luck) so that it will get the same value as the "Shipping Date" field when hitting the 'Ship Button', but also have the option to override this field in certain cases.


I have tried have this field populate according to saved search - worked BUT override didn't work after hitting save.


Same story when applied a WF, get's auto populated but then when trying to override it in 'Edit' mode to a different date, it changes back to the 'Shipping Date'.
