Downloading transaction limits

Each year we have to download the general ledger transactions to give to our auditors. We have multiple companies. When we run a transaction detail report (modified to include some fields the auditors want to see) we run into size limitation. For one of our entities I've had to add account numbers to the pull to limit the size of the pull to what NetSuite would allow since one month of transactions was too large for NetSuite. When I pulled it in pieces the size was only 173,300 lines. I find it VERY hard to
