TO_NUMBER creating error

Hello,

I have a number stored in a text field of an inventory item ({custitemcustitem_s2kdesc23} = 25). I am trying to use this number in a calculated formula.

TO_NUMBER works if I use the function before the calculation. For example, TO_NUMBER({custitemcustitem_s2kdesc23})*2 = 50

However, 50 / TO_NUMBER({custitemcustitem_s2kdesc23}) returns an error.

Any ideas on how to get around this?
