Data entry fields on custom sublist

Hi all

I hope everyone is well.

Sorry if this is explained elsewhere but I have looked it up and can't find the documentation.

On the built in sublists on inventory items like 'Location' there are a number of fields into which data can be entered and saved and referenced elsewhere. Screenshot below.

Can anyone tell me how I add a data entry field to a custom sublist?

If the sublist is coming from a search then presumably I need the field to be on the search, do I create it on the search as a formula field? And if so how do I make it so it is editable on the page?
