Saved search to show customer accounts ordered daily

Can a save search be set up to run a report which shows the number of accounts ordered daily so we can track the number of accounts ordered through the course of a month.


For example if an account orders on the 1st day of the month and orders numerous times throughout the month this only counts as one account.


We want to know how may individual accounts have ordered and be able to rack this daily.
