Is there a way to include error trapping on Advanced PDF templates?

Is there any way to include some kind of error trapping on Advanced PDF templates?

I am including PDF files from the file cabinet in my template (within a PDF Set), but if the user forgets to tick the 'Available without login' box when uploading the file, then it cannot be included in the template.

If this happens, the entire template fails with:

An unexpected error has occurred. Please click here to notify support and provide your contact information.

It would be more helpful if the pdf insert could fail, but the rest of the template would print.

Or can I check if that field is ticked before I insert it? Can I access that tickbox from my search?
