How can I create Revenue recognition on a custom field on a third party

Currently we have subscriptions for billing and collections in Zuora. We then pass some of this information (Business Unit, Item, customer, amount, service periods) to Netsuite and use the revrec routine in NS to recognize revenue. We now want to pass the actual plan to NS. I think we need create a custom field and populate this field NS. The end goal is to recognize revenue at the plan level. Does anyone know if NS can recognize revenue at the level of a custom field or is it only at the Item level?

Any help or thoughts on how to do this are greatly appreciated. My boss wants to have this accomplished by the 1st of the year.
