Release 2020.1: Overview of Outsource Manufacturing in Transactions and its GL impact

Outsource Manufacturing enables users to link Purchase Orders released to Vendors for the Outsourced charges with that of the Assembly Build/Work Order entered in Production. Basically, this feature allows the auto-creation of Work Order upon saving the Purchase Order.

Prior to 2020.1, users would need to create stand alone Purchase Orders and Work Orders for outsourced services availed from external vendors. Some business processes involve the following scenario:

  1. User provides all of the raw materials for their Assembly.
  2. They will then send out these raw materials to Vendor A.
  3. This assembly will be built by Vendor A.
  4. The said vendor would then charge the company a
