Why you cannot hide Client Scripts in SDF?

Hi, I have a query regarding the documentation hiding files in SDF. It is mentioned that we cannot hide client scripts. But no details are given about why and what could be the consequences. Can anyone throw some light on this? All our client scripts are actually hidden in production. Thanks!
