Termination Date?

What date is expected to be entered in the Termination Date field?

My understanding would be that if someone's last day of work is today (5th April) then their termination date would be 5th April

We edited a user who had given notice with a termination date of 5th April, and this morning (5th) his account was marked inactive and all his user roles removed.

Is this the expected behaviour? Is there any way to get NetSuite to disable an account at the end of the Termination Date?
