What type of item should I be using?
So we have a System Control Unit or SCU. The SCU is made up of various components such as circuit boards and cables.
When we purchase them from our supplier, we order them as parent items (SCUs) and the components are not listed on the purchase order.
However, the company wants to be able to have a record of all of the components. So whilst the SCU is serialized, it holds no value and instead the value comes from the components inside of it. I'm not sure how I would receive in the components if they're not listen on the PO, unless I need to request that our supplier start doing so.
