Work orders for assemblies that are not kept in inventory - special research projects for laboratory

hi gurus,

I'm looking for the best way to deplete components on a one time used bom. The WO is being used to trigger consumption and consume components.

However since the WO will be linked to a research project, that assembly is not needed in inventory once complete. IS there any native functionality to deplete the assembly besides adjustment?
