I've checked the following:

Bank Account setup on App = Clearing account

Clearing GL account has the correct bank account selected on the EFT SUMMARISATION field.

The setup is exactly as it is in SB, yet when I create the journal I get the following error

Error in creating Journal. [ERROR]: Each line must have a non-null value. Zero is permitted.
