Uncheck group Invoice feature at customer record

I was not able to uncheck group invoice checkbox, getting below error message.

cannot uncheck group invoices checkbox because the customer has sales orders or invoices for grouping.


We would like to remove this option from the customer record, is there a way to uncheck this option?
