Journal entry preview impact feature

Is there a way to see the impact of a journal entry on the balance sheet and P&L prior to actually booking the entry?

I'm running into issues where I approve journal entries and realize the entry is going in the wrong direction and have to book a reversing entry to correct this. If there was a feature we could preview the impact before approving a journal entry, that would be great.
