Can workflows be triggered by a UE script

I know one UE script won't trigger another one. https://suiteanswers.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/74802/loc/en_US

Does the same apply to Workflows? I have a workflow that triggers on Billing Account create. There's a new UE script that is creating the Billing Accounts. The workflow isn't firing. Is it the same reason?
