Workflow to Popup Message when a flagged item is entered on a sales order

I am trying to write a workflow that will pop up a message to the sales team if an item flagged as B2C (on the item record) is entered on a B2B Order. I created a Transaction based workflow but the Custom Field on the item record is not available to set as part of the criteria. Does anyone know of a way to write this workflow?
