Can we have a notification whenever a Custom item field is created?

Hello Gurus,

Looking for a longshot answer on this one. Customer wants notification when a Custom item field is created. I don't see a way to do it via search, system notes seems too problematic. Hoping for a non-scripted option


Any thoughts?
