Allocating revenue recognition to multiple revenue accounts from a single item

edited Jun 2, 2025 2:40PM in Ask A Guru 2 comments

We're beginning to sell bundles of our products and would like to allocate the revenue of the Bundle item across up to 3 revenue accounts based on percentages.

So far the only method I've found to do this is:

  1. Create a new Item for the bundle
  2. Create a new deferred revenue account for the bundle
  3. Create a new revenue account for the bundle
  4. Build an allocation schedule for the revenue account that will take total dollars at month end and allocate back to the other 3 revenue accounts by % of total

End result would be deferred is correct for bundles, the new revenue account balance is $0, and the original 3 revenue accounts have been populated with the correct percentages.

Howdy, Stranger!
