How to update Class line field on Invoices?

This invoice has a SKU and a Class filed in the line item.

When we enter a SKU, we want the class to fill out automatically.

What's the easiest way to do that (script? field parameters?). I'm not sure what might be possible. We're also open to something like a "Class2" custom field that is configured to get that info (the Class in the SKU).
