Can you configure how hyphens are handled for SuiteCommerce Item Search?

I have discovered an issue with items that use hyphens in their names.

On our site, a search for an item like PUL120-K1 returns no results when the item name is entered exactly. It also returns no results when the hyphen is omitted. Is it possible to configure how hyphens are treated in item search?
