Message record possibility for custom fields

We would like to add a custom field to the Message record.

When looking at the record browser the Message record shows:

Message

Internal ID: message

Supports Custom Fields


Show looking at this it looks like it should be possible to add custom fields to the Message record. How and where can I create a custom field to a message record?
