Clear Intercompany Open Receivables

Hello.

We are trying to make an intercompany payment but running into an error - "you must apply the credits/deposits to at least one item". However, we don't have an invoice as the loans were all made via journal entries. How do you clear Intercompany Open Receivables without an invoice?
