How does smart count hit the GL?

Hi,

I have noticed that the spot counts for smart count are not showing up in my shrink gain KPI. My KPI looks at a specific account. In the smart count settings there is an account you can set for the counting plans but what about spot count? I look at the smart count record but I don't see a GL impact button or any related documents. I am trying to understand how this works so my KPI for shrink and gain can be accurate. Thank you.
