Sale by customer listing invoices and balance due

Hello I am trying to customer the sales by customer report and the report keeps populating each line item balance with the invoice number listed multiple times. I can not figure out how to get it to just list the invoice number and the net balance of the invoice instead of listing line items and the same invoice number multiple times. Can someone help with this?
