COGS and Item names

Is there a report that I can create to see the item names on the cost of goods sold general ledger accounts?

Under Setup>Accounting>Accounting Preferences>General Tab, Expand Account Lists is enabled.

All the Inventory general ledger accounts show the item name when a search or reports is generated.

I have a request from accounting to show items names on the cost of goods sold account

Is this a future system enhancement? Are there any workarounds that anyone may know?
