Saved Search Result on Item Alternative

Hi.

I created a saved search to summarize open SO and fulfilled SO quantities by item. I hoped to populate fields on the item with that (also open PO's, but I just need to know what's possible). However, I see item fields can't be populated from a saved search. There is inventory quantity on the item. How can I get the other quantities.
