SCS: How to get an external link to open in a new tab from the main navigation menu

We have a SuiteCommerce website and on our top navigation menu and also in our footer menu, we link to an external website. We'd like this website to open in a new tab or window so the customer doesn't leave the SC site. Is there a way to do this? Thank you.
