Custom Transaction Sublist Fields not working

Hello.

I have created some custom fields on the item (we use assembly items as purchased parts so we can attach drawings and specs to their bom). I added custom transaction fields to the PO sourced from the items. The fields are on the PO, but they aren't being populated. I thought they should populate automatically.
