Do Not Commit > Back ordered

Hi! Is there a way to uncommit the quantity in a sales order by choosing the DO NOT COMMIT option without resulting it to BACK ORDERED?

After changing the COMMIT criteria from Available QTY to DO NOT COMMIT, the committed quantity is now transferred to BACK ORDERED even though there are still enough on-hand inventory.
