How to make a Workflow: Send Email after saving the record?

Hi,

I have a workflow that creates a custom button. When the button is clicked, a workflow action script is run and the action Go To Record (open in edit mode) executes and an email is sent to a list of individuals. Is there a way to have the email sent only if the record is saved? Right now, all of the action execute anytime I hit the custom button.
