Sourcing with Custom Records

as described in help topic "Sourcing with Custom Records" the sourcing is not working. may i am doing some thing wrong

We have created a custom field on the standard "Subsidiary" record called "xxTerritory"

updated the xxTerritory for all existing subsidiaries on the standard subsidiary record.

Created a new record type which also has the xxTerritory fof type "free form text" ield and and one more field called "drv_subsidiary" to hold the subsidiary sourced from standard subsidiary record. using the steps mentioned on the help topic.

i am unable to chooise the related fields on the "Sourcing & Filtering" tab
