inventory level and adjustments for Kit/Package

We use Kit/Package to aggregate member items AND we stock certain Kit/Packages in their own right. Does NetSuite support inventory management of Kit/Package or does that require an Assembly? Is there a way for us to stock out Kit/Package items?
