SuiteTax Reduced Tax Rates (US - Connecticut)

edited Jun 2, 2025 2:49PM in Ask A Guru 4 comments

Hello team - we are implementing SuiteTax and have encountered a problem with automatic calculation of reduced tax rates.

Specifically, in Connecticut certain software is taxed at 1% as opposed to the standard 6.35%. I was under the understanding that we would be able to use SuiteTax Schedules to indicate which Items this rate should be applied to. However, after consulting with our NetSuite support team I understand that the SuiteTax Schedule function is not available in the US currently.

Obviously, this is a huge issue - Our procurement analysts add Items to a Purchase Order which will automatically calculate the tax rate based on our tax configuration and exemptions by state. It will be an issue if they are left to making judgement calls on which Items should receive this reduced tax rate. (which is why we have overpaid taxes and are now implementing SuiteTax.)

Howdy, Stranger!
