Why did the Fixed Asset module include asset addition at the incorrect value?

I had a bill of £2000 and shortly after received a £30 credit note. I allocated the credit against the bill so that £1970 was the total payment made.

When using the Fixed Asset Module to pick up any asset additions, it picked this one up, but at the £2000 value and not the £1970 value. It is now depreciating the asset over the £2000 in error. Does anyone know why this is?
