What is the best way to set up an assembly BOM for a liquid manufacturer? Best practice for Units of measure is to use the smallest unit as the base unit of measure. This means that the BOM created is for the smallest unit of measure (fluid ounces, despite production occurring by gallons). This then leads to extremely small component quantities on the BOM. Then, MRP suggests work orders by the fluid ounce, when in reality they are to be produced by the gallon.
