How to add a column to the Inventory Detail pop up?

I have seen where a couple of people added a custom column, but I haven't seen a path to how that was done. We don't need an expiration date and I would like to change that column to a UPC Code. I have added that field to the inventory detail list but I can't figure out how to add it to the pop up… I'm a newbie and have spent all day trying to figure this out, any help would be appreciated!
