We are a distributor and order a lot of long lead time items.  Backorder (items ordered but not yet shipped) is a key metric for us.  I can see total amount on backorder in realtime but I would like to see historical backorder values (what was backorder on a given date for example) and even trend backorder over time. 

I have not been successful doing this thus far.  I typically run into the saved search limitation of not being able to reach more than transaction away from the initial search transaction and would appreciate any insights you may have.  Thank you.
