Unapplied amount remaining on bill payment

Hi

Is there a way to show the amount remaining (yet to be applied) on a bill payment transaction?
For example, I have the following bill payment:

I would like to see fields which track the amount applied and the amount remaining on the body of the bill payment transaction.

I suspect I would need a custom field with a saved search for this? (since I could not see any native fields which show this on the bill payment form)
