Matrix items have lost their connection to matrix options list. Urgent

Hi everyone, hoping you may have suggestions on how I can proceed with this.

I just got off the phone with customer support as somehow the connection between my Parent Matrix items to the Children and their Matrix List options has been severed.

This means a number of things:
The child items no longer have their Matrix Options listed

Other items added more recently are still working that use the same Matrix Options
