Can emails sent from a Vendor RFQ be tracked?

Is there a way to track emails sent on the Bid Open date of a vendor RFQ? We noticed that once these emails are sent, they are not added to the Communication Tab of the RFQ transaction.

Also, if the vendor replies to this email, the answer is not added either.
