How do I get inventory counts to be in alphabetical / numerical order?

Hi, I am in the "Create inventory count " page - is there a way to have the items appear in numerical / alphabetical order when working with a calculated inventory count? From everything I have read, it looks like it should appear in numeric order if you don’t check the sort-by-bin box when creating a count but I have been unable to figure it out. The items are still randomly listed instead of in numeric / alphabetical order.
