Has any one transitioned from Barcode labeling to a Data matrix Code?

We have some lot codes and descriptions that are too large to fit on our labels. We would like to move from a barcode to the Data Matric code. Has any one done this? We did this with our NetSuite labels and the had a file that we used. Does NetSuite have something like this?
