Source Contact Record on the Customer Record

I need to be able to source fields on the Contact record while working on the Customer record but it doesn't seem to be available as a source/join even though it's listed in the Relationships as a sublist.

Basically, there is information on the primary contact record associated with that customer that I need to display in the main/header. I'm also trying to use it in worfklow logic but running into the same issue there.

Seems like they should have a pretty straightforward relationship but I can't seem to link it up.
