Change field on item with workflow so it appears to be user initiated

We have a workflow setup to enable a checkbox on an item card. We are using this custom field on the item to enable a setting on our website so the item is marked as same day shipping eligible when certain inventory levels are met. The workflow works flawlessly and enables the checkbox as expected.

We are using a 3rd party integrator to connect inventory to our website. Unfortunately, that will not update any fields on the item unless it sees it is user initiated. Since the workflow is not user initiated, the integration never sees the change and does not update the field on the product on our website.
