How do you handle these common Lease Modification issues?

  1. Part way through the lease terms, we expand the total square footage. The lease is amended to increase the square footage and the monthly rent.
  2. Part way through the lease term, we negotiate a reduction in rent due to the initial amount stated on the lease to be incorrect. The lease amendment calls for a decrease in the monthly rent.
  3. Part way through the lease term, the sales tax included in the monthly rent changes. There is no lease amendment done but the monthly rent is changed.
  4. A few months into a lease, the landlord advises us we are paying the incorrect rent as there is a typographical error. The monthly lease amount needs to be changed.
